Bamboo chair, circa 1875-1900

Elegant bamboo chair incorporating the feet and the roots of the tree. It was made during the second half of the nineteenth century, when exoticism is an inevitable trend for any good home. This chair has a standard structure straight structure and spacers to complicate but also to beautify and solidify.

To soften the lines, the workshop took care to bend pieces of bamboo to adorn the file of multiple sleepers.
