Majolica Set, Wild Rose Service, Delphin Massier, Vallauris, France
Beautiful majolica set realized by Delphin Massier probably at the end of the 19th or early 20th century.
Like most of Massier’s pieces, nature is the main source of inspiration. In this respect, Delphin Massier’s work fits perfectly into the Art Nouveau movement. This ornamental vocabulary contributes to the renewal of the decorative arts at the end of the century. Many naturalistic motifs from all horizons appear in the Massier production.
