Georges Pull, Jaspered Medallion Charger with Horns of Planty, circa 1860
This charger with jaspered medallion and horns of plenty is signed Georges Pull. Georges Pull was inspired by the work of Bernard Palissy, famous Saintonge ceramist of the late XVI century. The center forms a medallion that imitates these jasped stones, highly prized for their decorative effect. The edges of the dish are decorated with abundant horns alternating with blue flowers and green medallions recall of precious stones. These embossed motifs highlight the central medallion.
