Planter Decorated with Fruits, Flowers and Rams, Minton, circa 1860

This planter decorated with fruits, flowers  and ram heads was made by Minton Factory in England. A similar model was presented at the first World’s Fair  in London in 1851. This piece reflects the characteristics of the work of this manufactory, rich in colours and fantasy. The recurrent motif of the ram heads is found there.

This brightly coloured piece testifies to the exceptional creativity that reigned at the Minton factory in Stoke-on-Trent during the second half of the 19th century. It must be said that the manufactory has an important power of attraction, particularly since the Wolrd’s Fair in London in 1851. For this event, the Manufacture offers many pieces, each more original than the next. This planter alone brings together many of the characteristics of Minton Manufacture’s work: bright, vivid colours, a rich and varied decoration, classic inspirations.
