Thomas Victor Sergent, Blue Vases with Flowers, circa 1890
Nice pair of flowers blue vases signed under the base. There is a little chipping on one the flower (see the pictures). Thomas Sergent made all of his materials, including his enamels and glazes, and he developed his own clay formula for maximum plasticity. He made his own moulds and produced extremely vibrant colors such as cobalt blue, yellow, orange and greens. The colors he used were intentionally different from nature.
