Tea and coffee set, Faience of Choisy-le-Roi, 1804-1936
This tea set consists of ten cups accompanied by their cups, one tray, a teapot and a coffee maker, a jar for milk and a sugar bowl. Each piece is signed under the base by an acronym Hte Boulenger & Cie which appears on the productions of the manufacture from 1878. The decoration is made in champlevé in the dough that is to say by removing the material then the piece is entirely glazed. This skillfully mastered technique allows to create subtle variations of the color of the glaze more or less supported according to its thickness.
