Flora service to liserons, Manufacture of Creil and Montereau, 1855 – 1880
This service is one of the masterpieces of the Creil factory, created in 1797 on the banks of the river Oise. In 1940, this factory merged with the Montereau earthenware factory. A union of expertise that gave birth to this dazzling white and blue from the flames.
One of the most representative services produced by the Creil and Montereau earthenware factories, the Flora ancien service, or Flora aux liserons, was unveiled to the general public for the first time at the 1855 Universal Exhibition, held at the Palais de l’industrie in Paris. Its success made it one of the great classics of the Creil and Montereau earthenware factories, which continued to produce this model until the end of the 19th century.
