Large Monkey Lamp, School of Michel Zadounaïsky, 20th Century

Michel Zadounaïsky, sculptor of the twentieth century, mastered wrought iron like no one else. He was able to take from the material all the artistic and sculptural potential, all the preciousness. Important figure in the Lyon art scene, he founded in this city a school whose students are harnessed as their master to push the boundaries of the material, to break the border between fine art and industrial technology. This monumental monkey, produced by Zadounaïsky’s school, reveals so well the boldness but also the humor of this production.
