Voyage aux Bahamas, designed by Géraldine B. Prieur for Rouge Absolu and in partnership with Toulemonde Bochart, to coincide with Paris Deco Off and Maison & Objet in the City, from January 16 to February 28, 2025

“VOYAGE AUX BAHAMAS” was born from the alchemy of a collaboration between ROUGE ABSOLU, TOULEMONDE BOCHART and GALERIE VAUCLAIR. This conceptual, artistic and human encounter brings together three personalities – Géraldine B. PRIEUR, Anne SEBAOUN and Laurence VAUCLAIR – agents of matter through uncompromising artistic choices. The interior architect-designer, the publisher of exceptional rugs and the antique dealer combine their expertise and color palettes to boldly merge their worlds.

For the design of this new setting, interior architect and designer Géraldine B. Prieur was given carte blanche by GALERIE VAUCLAIR. Laurence and Denis Vauclair-Rouquette responded to her proposal with friendship, since in 2012 the interior architect had transformed their gallery at the Puces de Saint-Ouen by restructuring the space. Renewing the collaboration between her studio ROUGE ABSOLU and GALERIE VAUCLAIR, Géraldine B. Prieur unveils a sunny, colorful ambience for January 2025, in keeping with her tropisms and coinciding with the antique couple’s savoir-faire. With “VOYAGE AUX BAHAMAS”, GALERIE VAUCLAIR celebrates the plant world with its natural rotins; here, the glazes of its barbotines shimmer like the reflection of the waves. For over a year, Laurence and Denis have hunted out and selected the pieces presented in this exhibition. The alliance of these four personalities, who enjoy manipulating materials, reveals a demanding décor born of the imaginary coral reef.

For the 2025 season of the Paris Déco Off and Maison & Objet In the City shows, TOULEMONDE BOCHART presents a new range of limited edition rugs at GALERIE VAUCLAIR. Stretched across the walls, they take you on a Caribbean journey through shades of blue. Invited by TOULEMONDE BOCHART to design them, designer Géraldine B. Prieur unveils four models. In this scenography, the “Jungle Forest” rug comes in blue and gold, combining organic shapes with a leopard print. It is beautifully complemented by the geometry of the “Compass” rug, which represents a compass rose in shades of blue, yellow and beige. Walls come to life with the “Fédora” tiger head, or take on a marine ambience with the “Corail” rug. Whether hand-knotted in Nepal or hand-tufted in India with ultra-fine New Zealand wool, these exceptional rugs are designed to captivate a public always in search of creativity. For both TOULEMONDE BOCHART and Géraldine B. Prieur, this new line of rugs marks their collaboration on a future project in the Bahamas.
